Fashionistas
Take It In Stride
ASHION
WEEK in New York is really 10 days of torture –unless, of course,
you're a true fashionista and can thrill at the diversity, color and
dynamism of seeing some of the most unique styles from international
designers.
My first show was Parisian
designer Lloyd Klein. He
showed brilliant colors, luxurious fabrics and ultra feminine
designs. Front row were the super-glam Hilton sisters,
while Paris made a trip down the catwalk.
In from school Ivanka
Trump, as well as Allison Weiss from
Miami, and Moira Forbes of the publishing Forbes,
were all front row. International hair stylist Julien
Farel created the hair magic, supermodel Carol Alt was
one of the backstage well wishers, and all in all, even in the
middle of a monstrous snowstorm, it was a great start to Fashion
Week. |

| Celebrating
Nile Rodgers
HIS
was one of the coldest nights of the year. There we were freezing at
the stage door waiting for some of the music industry's biggest
stars and celebrities. My assigned VIP, Patti LaBelle, came 90 minutes after her assigned time.
Swathed in Dennis
Basso sable, glittering diamonds and the cutest evening
purse designed by none other than Patti
herself, Patti
is a star always worth waiting for. Her talent, so
generously shared, is HUGE.
The evening celebrated the
25th anniversary of Nile Rodgers and
his famous band Chic.
Nile who has written,
orchestrated and produced music for many of the world's greatest
stars, created the fundraiser for his We
Are Family Foundation, and was honoring the divine Miss
Diana Ross and
Court TV's Henry Schleiff.
Sadly Miss Ross was a
no-show. Given her current health woes, everyone understood and no
one complained because all the acts were supreme! The
Village People (past and present),
Ashford and Simpson, LaBelle, Freddy Jackson and
a dozen other acts took
the stage at the China Club and wowed the audience who
stood and clapped and cheered till the wee hours of the morning. |

A
Jazzy Tribute
EW
YORK has gone to the dogs, or so it seemed at the recent book launch
for Cindy Adams's salute to
her 8-pound furball, Yorkshire terrier Jazzy. The
Gift of Jazzy is renowned columnist Adams’
tribute to the comfort and joy brought to her life after the death
of her longtime husband, world famous comedian Joey Adams.
Cindy is one of the most
beloved, and feared, writers in New York. Known for her sharp
wit and pen, Adams is a doting and dotty mother on the topic of
Jazzy. The book is earning raves, and is already on the New York
Times best seller list.
Joining the canine lovers
group to celebrate its publication and the opening of Macy's Jazzy
Park Avenue Dog Salon were some of New York's biggest celebrities.
Henry Kissinger,
Mary Tyler Moore, Liza Minnelli and
husband David Gest and two dogs in
tow, renowned fashion designer Oleg Cassini, and
new English designer Julius Lumsden, Hollywood
glamour queen Arlene Dahl, soap opera diva Susan Lucci and
more.
Read the book. It is about
love and loss, grief and joy, and a very special lady (and her
beloved dog) in New York. |

Smile
When You Call Him
hey
call him Dr. Larry Rosenthal “Dr. Smile.” Not
only does he perform magic on some of the most famous smiles in the
world, but recently New York University dedicated its dental school
in his honor – the Dr. Larry Rosenthal Aesthetic School of
Dentistry.
A glamorous party you ask
– well, this doctor has created the smiles for many of the world's
most beautiful models and actors, business giants and victims of
dreadful traumas.
Everyone loves him and many
came to honor him. Socialite
Sale Johnson, Senator Jon
Corzine (taking time out of
Washington), sports legends and heroes Rod Gilbert and
Dave DeBusschere, and hundreds of other "smiling"
faces. |
