HE
New York Botanical Garden celebrated spring with a cocktail party
to preview its annual Antique Garden Furniture Show, which raised
$235,000 to maintain their world class horticultural excellence.
The
show, oldest and finest in the country, included exquisite
furniture and ornaments from 35 antique garden furniture dealers
in the country, as well as books, architectural elements, American
glass and antique rugs.
It
was a glorious evening for the chairmen, Susan Burke, Somers
Farkas, Muffy Miller, Bunny Williams and Calvert Moore.
They
greeted 750 guests including
Princess Michael of Kent, Martha Stewart, Coleman Burke,
Coco and Arie Kopelman, Audrey Gruss, Donald Miller, Nicole
and Derek Limbocker, Mary and Marvin Davidson, Mark
Gilbertson, Marjorie Reed Gordon, Jessie Araskog, John and Barbara
Robinson, William and Catherine Sweeney Singer,
and Andrea Stark.
The
antique exhibitors included Chanel’s Barbara Cirkva
Schumacher representing Fleur, the shop which she owns with
her husband John; Treillage Ltd, Waterford Gardens; and the
collection of Barbara and Tom Israel. |
